Gareth “Alfie” Thomas says he wants to see Wales stay away from England’s side of the World Cup draw.
The former Lions captain sees Eddie Jones team as a big threat with great strength in depth.
If Wales and England both win their pools – which they are on course to do – they wouldn’t be able to meet until the final
And that’s what ex-Welsh skipper Thomas wants to see happen
“People talked about Wales wanting to avoid New Zealand’s side of the draw,” he said, speaking on ITV
“But, for me, I want them to avoid England’s side.
“They are such a big threat. They have got so much ammunition to deliver and so much strength in depth.”
On Wales, Thomas said: “They are going really well. “They are going under the radar and doing what they need to do.
“They are almost guaranteed a quarter-final.”
