Big W recalls childrens tricycles Australia

Retailer BIG W has issued a recall for hundreds of potentially dangerous children’s tricycles.

The Australian chain said a design defect means the Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike model is incorrectly being used as a stroller.

“The Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike should not be used as a stroller but has some features of a stroller,” the recall notice stated.

“The product is unsafe for use as a stroller to transport children as it does not have the safety features required of a stroller.”

The tricycles were sold at BIG W stores and online between June 2017 to March 14 this year.

“If used by a customer as a stroller to transport children, the product may cause injury to a child if the product rolls in an uncontrolled manner or if the child falls out of the product,” the recall notice warned.

Consumers can return the product to any BIG W store for a full refund.
