Thousands of Australians have suddenly found themselves out of pocket, with the failure of Bendigo Bank electronic cash services overnight.
The bank issued an alert about 6am AEDT, stating that its ebanking was unavailable.
“We’re working to resolve this as soon as possible and will update as soon as we have any information. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” Bendigo Bank tweeted.
Four hours later, the issue was yet to be resolved — and no fix was in sight.
“We’re still working on this unexpected outage with no ETA for a fix at this point. Some branches are also affected and may not be able to process transactions. We will update as we know more.”
Bendigo customers have taken to social media to vent frustration and concern, saying their banking apps were not functioning and worried about their pay-wave and eftpos transactions paying-up.
“I can’t even buy myself food for work because of their dilemma,” one says.
“I hope I can pay for lunch today,” another worries.
“Its been down all night and now half of the morning. Seriously you have got to be joking when you talk about us having no patience. Be realistic,” vented another.
