Street Talk understands Bain will be looking to further bolster its team of dealmakers in Australia in 2020.
Since establishing a beachhead in Sydney four years ago, Bain has executed four local transactions, including fully exiting its stake in MYOB, which it sold to KKR.
Its other three deals are companies it still holds, including Boost Juice owner Retail Zoo, premium childcare business Only About Children and after school care provider Camp Australia. Murphy sits on the board of all three of those businesses.
Globally, Bain Capital manages $US105 billion ($152 billion) of assets across a range of asset classes including private equity, credit, public equity, venture capital and real estate.
